David Cobley

David Cobley is an award-winning portrait and figure painter who works from a studio in Bath, England. His portrait commissions include HRH The Princess Royal and President Assad of Syria.

In 2004 his portrait of Ken Dodd OBE was bought by the National Portrait Gallery, and he has recently been commissioned by the Gallery to undertake another portrait for its permanent collection.

He has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and held solo exhibitions at Beaux Arts and the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath, as well as at Messum's in London. His work is in public and private collections throughout the world.

Drawing has been, and continues to be, at the heart of what he does as a painter.
