Guided by Portrait painter Paul Wright and working with oil / acrylic paint students will work on a portrait over the course of 3 days, incorporating the techniques and processes employed by Paul within his own practice.
Through demonstration and tuition Paul will help students simplify and develop an understanding surrounding the difficult areas of tone and colour and the problem of likeness within portraiture, with an emphasis on a vibrant and expressive use of paint.
For painting courses we will provide both oil and acrylic paper, zest it (sorry no turps or white spirit allowed), basic brushes and a range of boards and easels. We do not supply oil or acrylic paint so please bring these with you including your own pallets, brushes and canvases you may wish to work with.
