This new one-day workshop will take place at the University of Bristol’s Botanic Garden paying homage to one of the most important group of insects - ‘the pollinators’. Participants will be able to make full use of the tutor’s expert knowledge, including access to her comprehensive collection of insect and pollen specimens and macro photographs. Using high-powered microscopes with which to examine these fascinating creatures you will create your own detailed and unique drawings, aided by extensive reference material will be available to assist each student produce a detailed and unique drawing of a pollinator.
We will meet at the entrance to the Botanical Gardens : Directions and parking details will be emailed with your booking confirmation. The day will be spent between the garden and the educational room on-site.
As we we wil be drawing on location, students will need to bring their own:
Selection of graphite pencils,
Small gauge retractable pencil (0.3mm)
Selection of mainstream lead pencils h2 – 8B leads,
Putty rubbers,
Graphite and ordinary pencil sharpeners.
A fold away table-top easel or board.- if you have one but not essential
The Drawing school will provide Botanical quality watercolour paper (Langton Extra Smooth Hot Pressed)
