Carol Peace Open Studios

Carol's first Open Studios at Paintworks will take place in her studio, Unit 5.2 but will also spill over into the soon to be, Bristol Drawing School in 5.3 . In both spaces she will be showing sculptures from life-size to very small, life drawings, some paintings and prints, she will also have some new bronzes. Some pieces will be in progress so you will be able to see a bit of the process.

"Drawing is an integral part of the process of my work. I draw the figure to familiarise myself with the human form; without constantly referencing, analyzing and being inspired by the lines and forms of the human figure I can not make sculpture intuitively or satisfactorily. Drawing makes the creative process of working with clay more fluid, gives me confidence that the imagined form in front of me is ok."
